A new community park which includes walking trails, playgound, parking and sports fields. The design process included a successful DCNR grant application, extensive public participation and Township committee review, park design and Phase 1 construction documentation and construction review. Stormwater is recharged to the local aquifer onsite using 5 state-of-the-art BMP rain gardens scattered across the site and recharge trenches along the trails. As project landscape architect for Simone Collins Erik Karlsson lead the project team which included Stantec, Inc. as project engineers.
Above: Stormwater is handled in a series of broad shallow rain gardens located throughout the park. Gravel-filled trenches along walkways collect and recharge runoff.
